Happy Spring Break!
A glimpse into our world...

Happy Spring Break!
The bulk of the assembly was a kids vs. teachers basketball game (which the kids came from behind and won in the last minute ~ go team!), but beforehand the Dance Team performed their "cheer" dance. Liz is pretty much in the middle of the frame the entire time. She gets to catch the girl at the top of the pyramid!
Liz had a great time on the Dance Team and is now running her buns off in track. Whew!
We stopped long enough before we left (even though we were running l-a-t-e!) for a picture. I was a little worried that this "formal" event would mean I would be under dressed, but that turned out alright. As it went, we only saw one girl in a real formal dress. She was adorable! And looked like she probably wore that to prom a year or two ago. :) Next year, we might have to join her in something super fancy.

I'd like to try to defend the shape of my shirt, or rather, the shape my shirt seems to give me.... but it's just what I get I guess for wearing a maternity shirt post-baby. It's being shuffled now to the back of the closet...
We had a really fun time. And I always love to see Kurt in his Class A's. He hadn't worn them since he graduated, so it'd been a while. We can just stop right here for a moment and bask in his handsomeness. ahhh.
One of the awards presented last night was a Citizen's Award. This was given to a young man who jumped into a canal and saved a man whose truck had gone in and had trapped him. Logan, the award recipient, was so cute as he gave a little speech, urged on by the Fire Chief. He said how honored he was to be there, among all of everyone, and how he was just a guy who was late for work one day.... he was meek as he admitted he'd always wanted to be a firefighter... which was very cute and sweet. The Union president, as he got back up after Logan told him that they'd remember him when he came through the hiring process. I'm sure there are points for skills like his!
It was a pleasure to stand and applaud those who had worked the biggest fires throughout 2008. Lives had been saved because of the work these guys have done. We were reminded again of the day Emily was born, and that that was the day of one of the most devastating fires in Boise history. Emily's daddy left to fight that fire that night, leaving us safe and in good care in the hospital. If I could link you to that post, I would. Look back a big on our blog to see those pictures... (I'd love a tutorial on how to do the linking, should anyone like to share....)
A fun night and cheesecake for dessert to boot. mmmmm....
Yeah, I KNOW you want some!!

Emily was showing off her skills to grandmas and grandpas. Sitting up is her new thing!
She was so good to dress for my party....her onesie says, "this IS my little black dress". Complete with frilly socks, she was the best dressed there!

34 is going to be a great year!!
